The Stereo Hybrid HPC 140 Race has had a complete refresh. The combination of RockShox Deluxe Select+ Trunnion Mount shock and RockShox 35 Silver fork delivers, absolutely. It’s a great combo in an eMTB of this standing. In addition, there are larger, more robust bearings and a boost 148 rear suspension. It is undoubtedly one of Cube’s best e-horses in the stable. Also, there’s a revised Agile Trail Geometry and Efficient Trail Control kinematics. But that’s not all. The new front full carbon frame triangle is bursting with smart solutions. The combination of Performance CX (Gen4) 85Nm and huge 750Wh battery delivers the kind of manners one expects out on the trail. A tuned, angled drive position ensures the very best performance and ground clearance. The Stereo Hybrid 140 HPC Race 750 features better handling than before and revised kinematics. The new geometry and more progressive rear end with Boost axle make for a more potent All Mountain configuration, capable of taking on any trail.

Bosch’s Kiox 300 display sits centrally, providing all the necessary rider information via a colour backlit screen. The Smart System LED remote on the left of the bars is simple and intuitive to use. It too uses an array of colour to identify riding mode and other key features.

On the front of the Stereo Hybrid 140 HPC Race is an outstanding pair of RockShox 35 Silver TK Air eMTB Approved forks with 150mm travel. Furthermore, these superbly strong and robust forks are a match for any rough terrain. A RockShox Deluxe Select+ rear shock provides the perfect balance and keeps the Stereo Hybrid 140 HPC Race 750 where it needs to be. The Deluxe is easy to use and a doddle to set up. It provides more than ample control over the most demanding bumps and hollows.

Shimano XT 12-speed

Gearing is via a top notch Shimano XT RD-M8100-SGS, ShadowPlus 12-speed complementing perfectly the hugely wide ranging cassette, a Shimano Deore, 10-51T. Shimano Deore Rapidfire-Plus shifters ensure clean and precise indexing, which is both effortless and responsive.

The winning combination of Schwalbe Nobby Nic, PerfL, 2.60″ on both front and rear keep the HPC Race on the straight and narrow. Stopping power is immense thanks to a fine set of Sram DB8 hydraulics, front and rear on 203 rotors.

How do I measure my height?

With your shoes off, stand upright against a wall, with your shoulders back and legs together. Use a pencil to make a small mark on the wall above your head (make sure you hold the pencil parallel to the floor). Then measure from the floor to your mark, in centimetres or feet and inches.

How do I measure my inside leg length?

With your shoes off, stand upright with your back against a wall. Place a book/ruler between your legs, level with your crotch. Then measure from the floor to the top of the book/ruler, in centimetres or feet and inches (it’s easier if a friend helps).

Q & A

Do all brands of ebike use the same unit of measurement?

No. Most brands show sizing in centimetres, however some use a S/M/L system, and others use inches. The table above includes all of these variations to help you find the right size.

Which size should I go for if I'm in between those listed?

If your measurements suggest that you have a choice of two different sizes, then in the end it’s a personal choice. Here are some rules of thumb to consider: Touring/Trekking ebikes - choose the smaller size. It is possible to make a smaller frame bigger (for example, by raising the saddle or fitting a longer the stem), whereas if the frame itself is too big for you, it’s likely to be less comfortable and won't feel right. eMTBs - choose the larger size. You’ll find an eMTB with a slightly larger frame easier to handle than one that feels cramped. You can always fit a shorter stem if necessary to reduce the reach to the handlebars.

How are ebike frame sizes measured?

An electric bike’s frame size is calculated by measuring the distance from the top of the seat tube (where the seat post inserts), to the centre of the front chainring. Sizing Guide
