The Vado SL is 40% lighter than the average ebike. This means that you can realistically carry it up a flight of stairs, lift it onto the train or bus, or secure it onto a bike rack without any trouble at all.

The Specialized Turbo Vado SL 4.0 features the SL 1.1 drive system. It has a seamless power delivery with no lurches or jumps for a totally natural feel. In addition, it fully decouples resulting in zero drag. It’s cadence range reflects that of a real rider, with no drop in power at 70/80 rpm. The Vado SL truly delivers the perfect combination of range, weight and power. As a result, this means superb handling just like that of a conventional bicycle. It has 3 x modes of assistance including an ‘off’ setting too.

At the heart of the Vado SL is Specialized’s Mission Control App. This extremely flexible tool allows the rider to access key functions of the bike via a smartphone. How do I measure my height?

With your shoes off, stand upright against a wall, with your shoulders back and legs together. Use a pencil to make a small mark on the wall above your head (make sure you hold the pencil parallel to the floor). Then measure from the floor to your mark, in centimetres or feet and inches.

How do I measure my inside leg length?

With your shoes off, stand upright with your back against a wall. Place a book/ruler between your legs, level with your crotch. Then measure from the floor to the top of the book/ruler, in centimetres or feet and inches (it’s easier if a friend helps).

Q & A

Do all brands of ebike use the same unit of measurement?

No. Most brands show sizing in centimetres, however some use a S/M/L system, and others use inches. The table above includes all of these variations to help you find the right size.

Which size should I go for if I'm in between those listed?

If your measurements suggest that you have a choice of two different sizes, then in the end it’s a personal choice. Here are some rules of thumb to consider: Touring/Trekking ebikes - choose the smaller size. It is possible to make a smaller frame bigger (for example, by raising the saddle or fitting a longer the stem), whereas if the frame itself is too big for you, it’s likely to be less comfortable and won't feel right. eMTBs - choose the larger size. You’ll find an eMTB with a slightly larger frame easier to handle than one that feels cramped. You can always fit a shorter stem if necessary to reduce the reach to the handlebars.

How are ebike frame sizes measured?

An electric bike’s frame size is calculated by measuring the distance from the top of the seat tube (where the seat post inserts), to the centre of the front chainring. Sizing Guide
