Full Suspension Electric Mountain Bikes

Easily recognisable, these exhilarating eBikes have dual suspension. A longer travel front fork, compared to a touring bike plus a rear shock. The combination of suspension on both front and rear means the rider can tackle much more demanding terrain with ease.

Due to the increase in hardware, a full suspension electric mountain bike will cost a little more than a hardtail. In addition, as with all bikes, the specification will influence the asking price. Front forks and rear shocks come in a number of different travels, and can be reasonably simple in nature or offer a wide variety of features.With such striking looks they can be hard to resist even if they’re not going to be used down the side of a mountain!

Wheel Size

Most riders are now opting for either a 27.5″ wheel or 29″ (29er) on their full suspension electric mountain bike. 27.5″ wheels combine the best elements of 26″ and 29″ and provide an agile ride. However, 29”wheels have become much more common in recent years. They offer more momentum overall, and are easier to roll over small objects on the trail. They’re a great option as an all-rounder.

Notably, CUBE now have a range that combines a  29″ tyre on the front and a 27.5″ on the rear. This provides the best of both worlds, and is referred to as a ‘mullet’. Great forward momentum plus the agility of a 27.5″ on the rear.
