The ORBEA Kemen SUV 30 offers the commuter, city and weekend rider one of the most stylish and lightest ebikes on the market. Effortlessly blending style with safety, minimalism with performance, the Kemen SUV 30 is an absolute joy to ride. Smooth, practically silent and powerful.

As the name suggests, this is a ‘Sports Utility Vehicle’. Equally at home around town and leisure routes, the Kemen SUV also has excellent off-road capability thanks to a pair of Schwalbe Johnny Watts 29er tyres. Wider and more rugged than a standard touring tyre, the SUV design facilitates even more riding options.

Lightweight

The Kemen range of ebikes are one of our lightest. At around 4kg LESS than the competition, this is indeed a lighter and more nimble ebike to ride. Thanks to its exceptionally lightweight and sportive nature, it’s a very natural ride too.

Barely recognisable as a road bike with electric power, the Kemen SUV 30 is a highly affordable ebike that delivers. The combination of a strong and practically silent Shimano EP8 motor and 540Wh battery ensures smooth power delivery and a helping hand when needed.

The engine offers more than enough torque, peaking at 85Nm. It’s ideal for commuting and leisure riding, and even off-road thanks to its SUV nature. Simple and efficient. The Kemen embraces the phrase “less is more” by combining a lightweight ebike with high efficiency. Also, thanks to a clever frame design, full battery integration adds further to the highly pleasing aesthetics. Totally discreet.

With three levels of assistance, the ORBEA Kemen SUV 30 is a real joy to ride and very flexible. Head winds and hills need not be quite so draining as they could be.

How do I measure my height?

With your shoes off, stand upright against a wall, with your shoulders back and legs together. Use a pencil to make a small mark on the wall above your head (make sure you hold the pencil parallel to the floor). Then measure from the floor to your mark, in centimetres or feet and inches.

How do I measure my inside leg length?

With your shoes off, stand upright with your back against a wall. Place a book/ruler between your legs, level with your crotch. Then measure from the floor to the top of the book/ruler, in centimetres or feet and inches (it’s easier if a friend helps).

Q & A

Do all brands of ebike use the same unit of measurement?

No. Most brands show sizing in centimetres, however some use a S/M/L system, and others use inches. The table above includes all of these variations to help you find the right size.

Which size should I go for if I'm in between those listed?

If your measurements suggest that you have a choice of two different sizes, then in the end it’s a personal choice. Here are some rules of thumb to consider: Touring/Trekking ebikes - choose the smaller size. It is possible to make a smaller frame bigger (for example, by raising the saddle or fitting a longer the stem), whereas if the frame itself is too big for you, it’s likely to be less comfortable and won't feel right. eMTBs - choose the larger size. You’ll find an eMTB with a slightly larger frame easier to handle than one that feels cramped. You can always fit a shorter stem if necessary to reduce the reach to the handlebars.

How are ebike frame sizes measured?

An electric bike’s frame size is calculated by measuring the distance from the top of the seat tube (where the seat post inserts), to the centre of the front chainring. Sizing Guide
