CUBE Editor Hybrid SLX 400X FE
The CUBE Editor Hybrid SLX 400X FE sports a trapezium frame. The benefit being a much lower top tube and more comfortable stand over height.
It is one of several models in the ‘Editor’ range signaling a new era for CUBE. The term ‘FE’ signals this bike as being ‘fully equipped’. It shares the same specification as the SLX 400X with the addition of:
- front light
- rear light
- mudguards, front & rear
- kickstand.
With beautiful aesthetics, the Hybrid SLX 400X FE is a super agile, lightweight eBike with the aim of improving urban mobility. As well as high quality components, it features the new, powerful SX 55Nm motor from Bosch. Total bike weight is amazingly light at just 19.2kg (excluding pedals).
The main difference compared to the Pro is that the SLX model features the superb Enviolo stepless hub gearing. In addition, it boasts a Gates carbon drive ensuring low maintenance and no oily or messy chains!
Sporty and Elegant
At first glance, the CUBE Editor Hybrid SLX 400X FE is both sporty and elegant. The clean lines of the aluminium frame are more reminiscent of a gravel bike than a city ebike. Its sharp looks are not only due to the beautiful design of the diamond frame, but to the way all cables neatly disappear into the headset.

Pedal faster, pick up speed even faster: The Performance Line SX works at least as hard as you do. It has a reduced pedal resistance of more than 50 percent compared to the Performance Line CX. Also, it has a narrower design of the cranks and an almost silent motor, and fits seamlessly with the CUBE Editor Hybrid SLX.
At around just 2kg, the Performance Line SX is Bosch’s lightest drive with the highest power density. Likewise, it reduces the total weight of your eBike, delivers greater agility and is ideal for fans of a sporty riding style. In addition, the compact drive unit disappears elegantly into the crank area so it looks like a conventional bike.
The CUBE Editor Hybrid SLX 400X FE Features the Latest Bosch Technology
Bosch’s new SMART SYSTEM features on the Editor Hybrid SLX 400X FE, with a Bosch System Control Display on the top tube. It’s minimalist in nature, providing battery level information and level of assist. The Bosch Mini Remote on the left of the bars allows the rider to change these levels easily at the press of a button.
Hub Gearing, High Level Performance
The Editor SLX 400X FE model is one of several available variants within the Editor range. All Editors use the same frame and Bosch technology, but differ in componentry.
The Enviolo stepless hub gearing offers lower maintenance to the user and a quieter running drivetrain. The absence of chain movement on a rear sprocket appeals to many and makes for a simpler mode of operation. The Gates carbon belt ensures ultra low noise too!
In addition, the Enviolo MC-TWIST shifter means effortless gear changes with a simple twist.
A superlite Aluminium frame forms the base of the SLX 400X FE. Carbon forks ensure both a nimble and lightweight nature to this fine specimen. A set of Shimano MT200 hydraulic disk brakes effectively tame the bike when needed.
Furthermore, the Schwalbe Motion Big Apple tyres provide exceptional grip, traction and low roll resistance on a multitude of surfaces. In addition, this beauty is equally at home in the urban jungle as it is on canal towpaths, fire tracks in the forest and the like.
