Riese & Müller New Charger Touring 2018
The New Charger Touring from Riese & Müller, new for the 2018 season, just like its counterpart the Supercharger signals a new era in ebike technology.
The Touring version of the New Charger is one of several in Riese & Müller’s range. Each one features stunning new technology and unique design. The Supercharger comes as standard with a single 500Wh Bosch PowerTube but has the ability to accommodate an additional 500Wh Bosch PowerPack (rather than an integrated PowerTube) on the downtube. This is the main difference between the New Charger and the Supercharger.
Riese & Müller is doubling the range of its electric bikes with dual battery technology by adding a second battery, but that’s not all. Both batteries can be charged at the same time. Both batteries deliver power to the bike at the same time also. Depending on your needs, you can also use just one battery to go on a ride. Its dual battery technology puts Riese & Müller at the top of its class in terms of riding range.
Most striking is its multi-award-winning design, followed by its athletic features. The Charger models are sleek in design, yet powerful in performance. A precisely-conceived geometry guarantee the ultimate in riding comfort. The Bosch Performance CX drive delivers above and beyond with its high torque. Even with a 500Wh battery as standard, the New Charger Touring simply keeps on going. With an optional upgrade to 1000Wh this ebike means business and has staying power like no other. With its tremendous, high-torque driving force and pedal assistance of up to 300%, the CX motor is capable of conquering any mountain and terrain.
The Touring version of the New Charger offers a full 28″ wheel based on Mach1 650 rims with Schwalbe Big Ben Plus 50-622 Reflex Tires for efficient touring. Shimano Deore 10-speed derailleur gears provide a wide and useful range to overcome even the most demanding hills. Hydraulic Shimano Deore disc brakes are spot on, and never fail to impress with their braking performance.
The New Charger Touring also comes with a number of other really useful features and kit. An ABUS Bordo Plus wheel lock mounted behind the seatpost prevents opportunistic theft. Both the ABUS and battery lock share the same key, which means you only need one key to do both jobs. The standard Intuvia Display or optional Nyon Display with Satellite Navigation can serve as a control centre with a smartphone charging function. Pleasing aesthetics are maintained via hidden cable runs under the top tube and through the frame. Furthermore, a Cane Creek Thudbuster ST suspension seatpost ensures ultra rider comfort. Lighting is bright and effective with a Supernova E3 E-Bike lamp on the front and a nice Busch & Müller Toplight Mini LED on the rear.
Available in a selection of three different eye-catching colours, the New Charger Touring is a real gem.
