KTM Macina Race 292
The 2018 Race 292 is a tough performer, beautifully balanced, and guaranteed to thrill. It comes hugely equipped with Bosch’s new fully integrated 500Wh PowerTube and hottest CX motor.
This hard-tail eMTB combines striking contemporary looks and great performance. It is highly maneuverable and guarantees to deliver whatever the ground conditions. The strong hydroformed frame with tapered steerer houses internal cable routing. Being a 29er provides the Race with a number of advantages over a 27.5″ wheelset. It has more drive momentum at the front to overcome even the most ragged of terrain. The larger size tyre enables the bike to overcome uneven ground easily, and to cut through the most demanding trail. The Race 292 is quite simply a powerhouse that will eat up everything in its path.
75Nm Bosch Performance CX
The Bosch Performance CX drive system fitted on the Race 292 calculates optimal handling from 1,000 sensor-measurements per second. It delivers the perfect assistance at every pedal step. The Intuvia display, controlled by a simple controller on the handlebar, ensures that every ounce of information is readily available and visible. Thanks to a ‘tuning derailleur gear’ feature in the Bosch drive system itself, gear shifting is smooth and harmonious. Furthermore, XT shifters and a slick Shimano Deore XT 11-speed provide near perfection, every time. The wide range 11-46T cassette enables huge climbing ability and complements the bike perfectly.
A fine pair of RockShox Recon air forks with Boost technology on the front provide great suspension and handling. Braking is effective and immediate when required. A set of Shimano SLX M7000’s on 180mm rotors tame the Race 292 when required, enabling tight turns and agile movement. Thanks to a set of Schwalbe Smart Sam 29″ tyres, the Race 292 hugs the ground when needed, yet allows a full powered delivery without holding back. It’s a balanced ride with huge power when called upon.
The Race 292 from KTM is indeed a great example of the next generation 29er, with looks to kill, it’s hard to beat.
