Focus Jam2 6.9

The Focus Jam2 6.9 is a high specification 29er eMTB with 150mm travel, powered by Bosch.

It maintains its status as a unique full suspension eMTB powered by the powerful Bosch Performance CX drive, coupling with a huge 750Wh removable Bosch battery.

Bosch’s eMTB motor, the Performance CX delivering around 85Nm of torque is the driving force behind the Focus Jam2 6.9. It’s light at 2.9Kg, compact and slim. The Q Factor is identical to conventional cycles, and consequently the bike feels very natural to ride. Furthermore, the motor design facilitates a shorter chainstay length, comparable to a conventional bike. The Performance CX integrates perfectly into the frame, providing a sleek and compact solution. In addition, four power settings feature on the CX with a walk assist function too. Assistance levels on the Jam2 6.9 are operated on the left-hand side of the bars. Bosch’s compact, removable KIOX 300 LCD offers all the necessary information, sitting centrally above the stem.

The Smart System from Bosch provides the very latest technology, with easy controller and display connection.

Focus Optimized Linkage Design (F.O.L.D)

All Jam2 eMTBs utilise the unique F.O.L.D. (FOCUS OPTIMIZED LINKAGE DESIGN) suspension system. It embodies the perfect balance between rigidity and forgiveness. All suspension hardware is located in the frame’s centre. The resulting extremely low centre of gravity enables superb handling especially on technical terrain and cornering – perfect for superb bike handling. The core of the design is a one piece rear triangle, which results in massive weight savings.

Dynamic Riding

Front suspension is provided via some very nice FOX 34 Float Rhythm forks with sweep adjust and 150mm travel. No bump or hollow is too much for these high end performance forks. Rear suspension is taken care of equally well thanks to a FOX Float DPS Performance shock. Three positions are available, and provide the necessary flexibility for all terrain types. The addition of a dropper seatpost ensures total control over riding position on the descents.

2.6″ x 29er tyres ensure the Focus Jam2 6.9 sticks to the ground when called upon, whilst the 29″ wheel size provides strong forward momentum over all terrain. A Shimano XT M8100 12-speed derailleur ensures smooth and decisive shifting. A wide range 10-51T cassette provides more than adequate gear ratios and ensures exceptional climbing ability.

A super light alloy frame ensure reliable and resilient handling together with a high degree of maneuverability. Four piston Shimano hydraulic disc brakes offer powerful yet controlled braking actions on 200mm rotors, front and rear.

The Focus Jam2 6.9 is a great example of the next generation eMTBs. It’s a very well balanced and natural ride thanks to a great overall design and the fact that it weighs less than other eMTBs. The 85Nm high torque Performance CX motor from Bosch and immense range thanks to 625Wh make it a unique experience.

How do I measure my height?

With your shoes off, stand upright against a wall, with your shoulders back and legs together. Use a pencil to make a small mark on the wall above your head (make sure you hold the pencil parallel to the floor). Then measure from the floor to your mark, in centimetres or feet and inches.

How do I measure my inside leg length?

With your shoes off, stand upright with your back against a wall. Place a book/ruler between your legs, level with your crotch. Then measure from the floor to the top of the book/ruler, in centimetres or feet and inches (it’s easier if a friend helps).

Q & A

Do all brands of ebike use the same unit of measurement?

No. Most brands show sizing in centimetres, however some use a S/M/L system, and others use inches. The table above includes all of these variations to help you find the right size.

Which size should I go for if I'm in between those listed?

If your measurements suggest that you have a choice of two different sizes, then in the end it’s a personal choice. Here are some rules of thumb to consider: Touring/Trekking ebikes - choose the smaller size. It is possible to make a smaller frame bigger (for example, by raising the saddle or fitting a longer the stem), whereas if the frame itself is too big for you, it’s likely to be less comfortable and won't feel right. eMTBs - choose the larger size. You’ll find an eMTB with a slightly larger frame easier to handle than one that feels cramped. You can always fit a shorter stem if necessary to reduce the reach to the handlebars.

How are ebike frame sizes measured?

An electric bike’s frame size is calculated by measuring the distance from the top of the seat tube (where the seat post inserts), to the centre of the front chainring. Sizing Guide
