Riese & Müller Charger Vario
The Charger Vario from Riese & Müller is an electric bike with a difference.
Shifting has never been so luxurious thanks to the Enviolo (formerly known as NuVinci) continuously variable hub gears. With no gaps and no shifting steps, it’s always easy to find the optimum gear. The Enviolo is virtually maintenance and wear-free, and like other hub systems, gear changing is easy whilst at a standstill. It comes with a silent Gates carbon belt too for bomb-proof wear and tear.
If that’s not enough, like all Charger bikes in the range, there is a whopping 1000Wh dual battery option!
An additional 500Wh battery can be added on the frame’s downtube for outrageously long rides. Riese & Müller is doubling the range of its electric bikes with dual battery technology, by adding a second battery. Both batteries can be charged at the same time. Depending on your needs, you can also use just one battery to go on a ride. Its dual battery technology puts Riese & Müller at the top of its class in terms of riding range.
Powerful Bosch Performance CX Motor
Most striking is its multi-award-winning design, followed by its athletic features. As the name suggests, all Charger models are like a six-pack cast in aluminium. The Charger Vario is no different. A precisely-conceived geometry guarantee the ultimate in riding comfort. The Bosch Performance CX drive delivers above and beyond with its high torque. Even with a 500Wh battery as standard, the Charger Vario simply keeps on going. With an optional upgrade to 1000Wh, this ebike means business and has staying power like no other. With its tremendous, high-torque driving force and pedal assistance of up to 300%, the CX motor is capable of conquering any mountain and terrain.
The Charger Vario comes with some nifty anti-theft features too. An ABUS wheel lock prevents opportunistic theft. Both the ABUS and battery lock share the same key, which means you only need one key to do both jobs.
New Features for 2019
New for 2019 is the option of adding either a Cobi Sport that enables navigation via a smartphone, and other features too. Alternatively, Bosch’s brand new Kiox display is a nice enhancement that’s available also as an option.
Pleasing aesthetics continue via hidden cable runs under the top tube and through the frame. Shimano XT 10-speed derailleur gearing and hydraulic Deore disc brakes ensure the Charger Vario is more than capable for the job in hand.
1000Wh (Dual Battery) +£839.00: the additional 500Wh Bosch PowerPack sits on the downtube.
